COURSES

If you are new to Pilates please contact me to arrange a lesson. In addition to my regular group courses I am now teaching beginners in small groups of up to 4 people.

SMALL GROUPS
Private lesson £45
2 people sharing £25 each
3 people sharing £20 each
4 people sharing £15 each

All regular group courses run to coincide with school half terms which are paid for in advance, but average out at £12 per lesson.

What to Wear
Loose casual clothing that doesn't swamp the body so I am able to see your movements and alignment; clean socks, no shoes, a small hand-towel and mat if you have one.

Here is a timetable of courses. See below for an explanation of the levels: beginners (level 1), continuers (level 2), intermediate (level 3) and advanced (level 4). Click on the venues for addresses.

Monday 3rd of November for 7 weeks until Wednesday 17th of December.

Monday 5th of January 2009 for 6 weeks until Wednesday the 11th of February

Private Lessons
If you have not done Pilates classes before, you will need to take a private lesson or small group in order for me to assess you prior to joining a class.You can also arrange private lessons and small group classes in your home, subject to availability - please contact me to discuss this.

Beginners Level 1
These classes are for people who have not done Pilates before. They concentrate on the breathing, how to use the deep core muscles and alignment. You will learn key exercises to start building strength and flexibility. Your posture will improve: Beginners' classes are suitable for most back problems and for people who have been recommended Pilates by their physiotherapists, osteopaths or GP.

Continuers Level 2
For those who have already done a Beginners course …
In these classes you will learn new and more challenging exercises, building up your Pilates repertoire. Your body awareness will improve, you'll feel stronger. The length of time you do Continuers classes depends on each individual. Some students like to remain in this class as you constantly experience new challenges as your understanding and proficiency improves, others want to progress to the next level …

Intermediate Level 3
In this class you will learn more advanced mat work exercises and develop more flow through the class, with swift and graceful transitions between exercises. There will be more standing exercises developing spacial awareness, co-ordination and balance at this level and you will feel a deep strength without having developed bulky muscles. You will be more flexible, poised and more finely tuned!

Advanced Level 4
In this class you will already have a good knowledge of the advanced mat exercises, whilst adding still more challenging exercises. The class is mainly performed to music, incorporating elements of yoga and dance to create a faster paced workout, working through every muscle in the body. Your mind and body will feel focused, alert and centred during the class and you will feel relaxed but with more energy at the end of it.
